The Teachers' Service Commission (TSC) has officially advertised over 45,000 teaching-related vacancies to strengthen the country’s education workforce. These include 21,000 recruitment positions and 24,000 internship opportunities across various counties.
According to the announcement made on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, the TSC is recruiting for the following senior positions:
-Chief Principals
-Deputy Principals
-Head Teachers
-Senior Teachers
-Senior Curriculum Support Officers
Additionally, 24,000 internship posts in Junior Schools are being offered to support the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) rollout.
All interested candidates must apply online via the TSC portal by Monday, August 25, 2025. The Commission emphasized that manual applications will not be considered.
"Successful candidates shall be posted to schools where vacancies are available," the TSC clarified.
To qualify for the internship program, applicants must:
-Be Kenyan citizens
-Possess at least a Diploma in Education
-Have a minimum grade of C+ in KCSE and in two teaching subjects
-Be registered with TSC
Be unemployed and not previously engaged under TSC
-Have Personal Accident Insurance
Required documents for application:
-Copy of TSC registration certificate or portal print-out
-Copy of National ID
-Two passport-size color photos
-Copy of KRA PIN
Interns will be attached to schools for 12 months and will receive a monthly stipend of Ksh20,000. However, TSC clarified that this is not a salaried role.
TSC has reiterated its commitment to a fair and transparent selection process, ensuring equal opportunity, including the consideration of persons with disabilities.
