On August 12, the Universities’ Academic Staff Union (UASU) issued a seven-day strike notice. The union has raised concerns over unpaid salaries for June and July 2025 and the failure by Moi University to honor key clauses of the 2021–2025 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

 

 

 

 

 

 

UASU also claims the university has not implemented a return-to-work formula agreed upon in November 2024. Other grievances include the delay in staff promotions and alleged non-compliance with retirement age policies.
