After completing the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), students seeking to join higher education institutions apply for placement through the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS). Once the application and revision processes are completed, students are placed into various universities and colleges across the country based on their choices and qualifications.
This article provides a detailed guide on how students can know their placement results after applying through KUCCPS.
The most reliable and cost-free method of checking your placement is through the official KUCCPS Student Portal.
1.Visit the KUCCPS Student Portal
Go to https://students.kuccps.net.
2.Log In to Your Account
Use the following credentials to log in:
Username: Your KCSE Index Number (e.g., 202412345678912).
Year: The year you sat for KCSE.
Password: Your Birth Certificate Number or KCPE Index Number (whichever was used during registration).
3.Access Placement Results
Once logged in, navigate to the dashboard. Your placement results, including the name of the institution and the course you've been placed in, will be displayed.
KUCCPS also provides a shortcode service for students who may not have access to the internet.
1.Compose a text message with your full KCSE Index Number, starting with the year (e.g., 202412345678912).
2.Send the message to 20842.
You will receive an SMS response showing your placement results, including the institution and course.
Note: Each SMS costs KES 25.
KUCCPS has developed a mobile application that allows students to check their placement and access other services.
1.Download the KUCCPS Students App from the Google Play Store.
2.Launch the app and log in using:
-Your KCSE Index Number as the username.
